Prof. Arulanandem holds an MD in Family Medicine from the University of Colombo and serves as Head and Professor in Family Medicine at the Faculty of Health Care Sciences, Eastern University. His career spans clinical service under the Ministry of Health and senior academic leadership, with published work on elder care, diabetes, hypertension and community health.
